2020欧洲杯体育直播投注the certifying official at ub veteran services certifies your academic status. the va then determines if you are eligible for benefits. students coming to ub for the first time (either as incoming freshmen or as transfer students), as well as continuing students who are receiving va benefits for the first time, must do the following:

Step 1. Complete the Veteran Education Benefit Enrollment Form for the Current / Upcoming Semester

This form certifies your enrollment, and lets the VA know that you are attending UB. You may also choose not to use your benefits for a specific semester. For the best possible financial aid, submit your G.I. Bill Enrollment form as early as possible.


2020欧洲杯体育直播投注if a family member has been approved and already transferred benefits to you under chapter 33 (post 9/11 gi bill), you will use your social security number on the g.i. bill enrollment form.

if you are a chapter 35 recipient, the va number is the individual who transferred the benefits.

2. Bring Your Paperwork to the Veteran Services office

  • Your certificate of eligibility letter from the VA; you can get this certificate online through the VA eBenefits system — please provide it as quickly as possible to the Veteran Services office
  • A completed copy of the UB GI Bill Enrollment form. We can help you complete this paperwork if you need assistance.

3. Transfer Students Only — Complete the Change of Place Training Form

if you are a transfer student who received benefits at another institution, you must also fill out va form 22-1995 (change of place of training/program). ub’s veteran services office will submit it to the va regional office, and you will receive notification from the va once your application is processed. your certifying official at the ub veteran services office must have a copy of this certificate. please note that you do not have to submit a nobe or application for benefits form (va form-1990) if you previously received educational benefits at another institution. if you are a transfer student but did not receive benefits at another institution, you do not need to complete this form.

4. Vocational Rehabilitation

to receive vocational rehabilitation authorization, you must first apply directly for vocational rehabilitation authorization with the . once you receive this authorization, please schedule an appointment with ub’s veteran services office. you will need to provide:

  • Statement/proof of federal benefits eligibility
  • VA Form 1905

5. Waive Your Health Insurance Through UB, If Applicable

if you have health insurance through the va, you may have to waive your health insurance through ub.

6. Additional Requirements, As Needed

depending on what chapter provides your benefits, you must also submit:

  • Post-9/11 GI Bill — Chapter 33: Certificate of eligibility
  • Montgomery GI Bill: Active Duty (Chapter 30) / Selected Reserves (1606) / R.E.A.P (1607): Certificate of Eligibility
  • Dependents Educational Assistance — Chapter 35: VA Form 22-5490 or Certificate of Eligibility with the VA number (this is different from your social security number; it is the number of the dependent parent who served in the military)
  • Monthly Verification (Chapter 30 or Chapter 1606/1607): Veterans receiving benefits under Chapter 30 or Chapter 1606/1607 must verify their enrollment each month to the VA in order to receive payment for that month. You can verify with the VA each month: By telephone through IVR (Interactive Voice Response) 1-877-823-2378.
